The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jon-Ander De la Fuente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bonifacio Dumont, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 7th match minute, Amsterdam FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Mast to maneuver through the defense. Anselmo Orden took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Niceto Anania. Amsterdam FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Chuquicamata's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Bonifacio Dumont scored to the left of an out of position Jon-Ander De la Fuente, making the score, 2-0. Brian Freitag might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jon-Ander De la Fuente. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brian Freitag ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Chuquicamata's zone, Bonifacio Dumont stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jon-Ander De la Fuente came out of the goal and Bonifacio Dumont tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brian Freitag's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jon-Ander De la Fuente read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play.

After having played for 53 minutes, Xosé Aránguiz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Amsterdam FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xosé Aránguiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brian Freitag sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brian Freitag recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amsterdam FC's Niceto Anania proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Amsterdam FC from getting a goal against them. Valiente Norambuena was extremely unlucky when he, in the 65th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Valiente Norambuena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bonifacio Dumont sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Xosé Aránguiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon-Ander De la Fuente having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Freitag in the 73rd minute of play forced Chuquicamata's goalkeeper Jon-Ander De la Fuente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jon-Ander De la Fuente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóbal Chao, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Freitag in the 78th minute of play forced Chuquicamata's goalkeeper Jon-Ander De la Fuente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brian Freitag fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon-Ander De la Fuente having to interfere. After 82 played minutes Amsterdam FC got a freekick which was hit by Amado Feloaga. Anselmo Orden's shot from long distance in the 83rd minute was not bad at all, but Amsterdam FC's Niceto Anania knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Bonifacio Dumont sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jon-Ander De la Fuente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brian Freitag, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Amsterdam FC had played much better football throughout.
