But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Carlos Cristi couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute of the match, Tomás Talledo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Juan Ignacio Isasa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juan Carlos Cristi to make the kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Provincial Osorno F.C's goalkeeper Mauro Gorriti, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Ariel Diaz de León kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mauro Gorriti. That made the score 0-3 in the 54 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Diego Aguirrebeña managed to get in a good position for a shot. Escapina's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Aguirrebeña was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mauro Gorriti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Escapina's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Escapina getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Diego Aguirrebeña hit a great ball. In the 80th minute, Menéndez Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomás Talledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mauro Gorriti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ariel Diaz de León, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. A collision led to Provincial Osorno F.C getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Maxín Achondo hit a great ball. Albin Pérez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Provincial Osorno F.C fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Escapina were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
