Brian Camelo started the match with the kick off. Basilio Contreras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Camelo in the 10th minute of the match. Benedicto Talamilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Basilio Contreras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brian Camelo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camilo Ocampo in the 27th minute of play forced Lazo's goalkeeper Narciso Tellerias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Lazo's zone, Camilo Ocampo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narciso Tellerias came out of the goal and Camilo Ocampo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Camilo Ocampo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Tellerias having to interfere. Narciso Tellerias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Talamilla in the 44th minute of play. After having played for 45 minutes, Camilo Ocampo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Camilo Ocampo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Mela were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Joel Sandoval kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Feliciano Manso de Velasco during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Lazo's Feliciano Manso de Velasco got a free kick in the 57th minute. The supporters of Mela booed when Lazo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octavio Santis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61stth minute of the game Camilo Ocampo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lazo's Narciso Tellerias was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Benedicto Talamilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the game, Angelino Talamilla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Basilio Contreras was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benedicto Talamilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Tellerias having to interfere. If Angelino Talamilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Mela's Tanio Lobo got a free kick in the 77th minute. Camilo Ocampo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Narciso Tellerias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Benedicto Talamilla's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Narciso Tellerias was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Feliciano Manso de Velasco hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Alipio Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basilio Contreras having to interfere. Mela's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
