Damario Bazan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Basilio Contreras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 10th play minutes Pedro José Ibarguen shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Basilio Contreras and just under the crossbar into goal. If Pedro José Ibarguen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damario Bazan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Basilio Contreras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Basilio Contreras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Hetz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tanio Lobo hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. If Pedro José Ibarguen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 44 minutes, Pedro José Ibarguen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rari's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro José Ibarguen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 46th minute, when Luciano Alfonso scored to the left of an out of position Basilio Contreras, making the score, 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Mela's Basilio Contreras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damario Bazan in the 58th minute of play. A collision led to Mela getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Maurilio Ayerdi hit a great ball. Pedro José Ibarguen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Basilio Contreras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Benedicto Talamilla came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Mela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benedicto Talamilla couldn't finish the play. In the 76thth minute of the game Camilo Ocampo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rari's Giancarlo Dibarrart was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Camilo Ocampo came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Mela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Camilo Ocampo couldn't finish the play. Benedicto Talamilla's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 81stth minute, Giancarlo Dibarrart skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Pedro José Ibarguen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Mela's zone, Pedro José Ibarguen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basilio Contreras came out of the goal and Pedro José Ibarguen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Giancarlo Dibarrart was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Camilo Ocampo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Camilo Ocampo really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. Rari were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Mela for a fine match.
