A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 15th minute, Guntademaro Jaramillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ariel Mozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Quidenez FC's zone, Guntademaro Jaramillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Armando Bascuñán came out of the goal and Guntademaro Jaramillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ariel Mozo took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Salomone Novajas. Salomone Novajas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Guntademaro Jaramillo struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Diego Armando Bascuñán didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cartajena. In the 42nd match minute, Quidenez FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaume Oñederra to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Mercé Lizarzaburu kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. When Gustavo Gaymer came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Quidenez FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo Gaymer couldn't finish the play. The Quidenez FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Cartajena were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
