Mateusz Kilarski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualberto Tiñoli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leopoldo Jacinto Espiñeira kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 28th minute Calixto Urmeneta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateusz Kilarski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Severiano Arestizabal's late challenge caught a universidad de chile's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Severiano Arestizabal helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute, Severiano Arestizabal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Leopoldo Jacinto Espiñeira made the kick off in the second half. Gualberto Tiñoli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Mateusz Kilarski made a huge save. Mateusz Kilarski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calixto Urmeneta in the 62nd minute of play. After having played for 67 minutes, Fabian Tartalo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. universidad de chile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabian Tartalo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Leopoldo Jacinto Espiñeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st match minute, universidad de chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pinone Mosquera to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Amato Jarabran from long distance, 72 minutes into the match, got Mateusz Kilarski's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a rather tough play, universidad de chile's Pinone Mosquera got a free kick in the 76th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gualberto Tiñoli got free with Mateusz Kilarski in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leopoldo Jacinto Espiñeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
