Gerónimo Conde could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Celino Tripailaf made a huge save. In the 20th minute, Damario Araube hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Los Rayados Victorienses's Celino Tripailaf got control of the ball when Gerónimo Conde tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 30th minute Renato Reveco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celino Tripailaf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute, Guido Sierralta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Luis Bardesi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natanael Ampuero in the 41st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Zorrilla's zone, Natanael Ampuero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Luis Bardesi came out of the goal and Natanael Ampuero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Natanael Ampuero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Renato Reveco was the one to do the kick off. Renato Reveco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Celino Tripailaf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 55 minutes, Renato Reveco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zorrilla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Renato Reveco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 57 minutes into the game, Renato Reveco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Celino Tripailaf was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Los Rayados Victorienses defense, Gerónimo Conde kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celino Tripailaf. The Los Rayados Victorienses fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celino Tripailaf should have stopped the shot. If Renato Reveco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fausto Toro hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. If Gerónimo Conde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gerónimo Conde came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Zorrilla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerónimo Conde couldn't finish the play. Celino Tripailaf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renato Reveco, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Gerónimo Conde struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Celino Tripailaf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zorrilla. José Luis Bardesi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Sierralta in the 88th minute of play. Gerónimo Conde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Celino Tripailaf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato Reveco in the 95th minute of play.
