Jordi Albarracin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paco Bombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paco Bombal during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Niquela's Paco Bombal got a free kick in the 25th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Romildo Grille got free with Jorge Pena in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jorge Pena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geofredo Illanes, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paco Bombal was the one to do the kick off. Paco Bombal was extremely unlucky when he, in the 57th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Yoel Gandarillas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Jordi Albarracin made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Paco Bombal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Geofredo Illanes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Jorge Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Niquela getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Carlos Alberto Massú hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cerilo Dittborn got free with Jordi Albarracin in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 93 minutes into the game, Cristián Silva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buill's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Niquela the free kick. Paco Bombal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jordi Albarracin having to make a save. The Buill players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
