Spectators: 6694 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1694, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Elias Leay started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Cartago AFC's goalkeeper Erasmo Aceituno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Hoefler. Erasmo Aceituno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Lantadilla in the 8th minute. In the 10th minute of the match Esequiel Cordero shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eustacio Escalante showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Romelio Carrera's late challenge caught a Guarilihue's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romelio Carrera helped the player get up and apologised. Lautaro Lantadillas short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Erasmo Aceituno to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Adam Baquedano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adam Baquedano struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Erasmo Aceituno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guarilihue. In the 22nd minute, Lautaro Lantadilla fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Erasmo Aceituno, passed just outside the right post. Lautaro Lantadilla made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 24thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Erasmo Aceituno would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Guarilihue's attack was well implemented in the 26th minute, but when Adam Baquedano was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Guarilihue's Adam Baquedano got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 37 minutes, Diego Armando Niño de Zepeda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guarilihue and the Cartago AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Adam Baquedano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A collision led to Cartago AFC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Justo Avilés hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Lantadilla in the 56th minute of play forced Cartago AFC's goalkeeper Erasmo Aceituno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Lantadilla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Erasmo Aceituno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erasmo Aceituno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adam Baquedano's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. A well placed Elias Leay short distance shot in the 74th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. If Elias Leay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guarilihue's Adam Baquedano got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mercurio Mercado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Aceituno having to interfere. When Elias Leay came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Cartago AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias Leay couldn't finish the play. Chants of Cartago AFC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Guarilihue had held the ball for most of the match.
