Spectators: 6710 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1710, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Elias Leay kicked off to start the match. Jorge Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Lecaroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erasmo Aceituno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paco Bombal's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. After a rather tough play, Niquela's Edgar Angeloni got a free kick in the 19th minute. Elias Leay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jorge Pena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Niquela's Paco Bombal got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paco Bombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paco Bombal to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Leay in the 53rd minute of play forced Niquela's goalkeeper Jorge Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erasmo Aceituno didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yoel Gandarillas went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elias Leay in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorge Pena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Yoel Gandarillas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. Cartago AFC's Erasmo Aceituno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yoel Gandarillas in the 81st minute of play. Yoel Gandarillas took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Erasmo Aceituno. Erasmo Aceituno dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 87th minute, Salomone Giagier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute, Vicente Lecaroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Leay in the 93rd minute of play forced Niquela's goalkeeper Jorge Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 97 minutes into the match, Cartago AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Paco Bombal came free, but Erasmo Aceituno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Niquela players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
