Niupi FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Balendín Montt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Dueñas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 36 minutes into the match, Niupi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Josué Arbieto came free, but Luciano Zúñiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Niupi FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hermenegildo Garachena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Enzo Duran fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Niupi FC's protests and gave Enzo Duran a yellow card for diving instead. Enzo Duran hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. If Josué Arbieto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hermenegildo Garachena took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luciano Zúñiga. Luciano Zúñiga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Celedonio Alcayaga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Achacollo getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Carmelo Arévalo hit a great ball. Jaime Dueñas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Balendín Montt went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Achacollo defense, Xaime Armaza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jaime Dueñas. The Achacollo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jaime Dueñas should have stopped the shot. If Balendín Montt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. Niupi FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marino Fraga ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jaime Dueñas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Balendín Montt in the 96th minute of play.
