After 14 played minutes, Chelis's Ferrán Panguilef shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gaspar Sandiford came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chelis reached it. Haroldo Ibarbia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saúl Thompson in the 17th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Angelino Diena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Albin Cortés managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paniahue's supporters rose to their feet, but Albin Cortés was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Haroldo Ibarbia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Saúl Thompson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Paniahue walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
