But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ángel Lama couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute, Fabricio Alcayaga made a precise shot to the right of Carlos José Cuadros. Cabecera's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ángel Lama got free with Sandro Gac in the 49th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Cabecera players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pisiga were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Javier Arostegui stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabricio Alcayaga got free with Carlos José Cuadros in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fabricio Alcayaga made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 59thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Carlos José Cuadros would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Tito Amenábar's late challenge caught a Cabecera's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
