Melozal's Jimmy Björkdahl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benicio Villagra in the 15th minute of play. Benicio Villagra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jimmy Björkdahl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. After 23 played minutes Melozal got a freekick which was hit by Kjell Billvall. Benicio Villagra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 33 minutes into the match, Melozal's goal looked a bit too open when Benicio Villagra came free, but Jimmy Björkdahl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ludovico Campbell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Melozal's zone, Benicio Villagra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jimmy Björkdahl came out of the goal and Benicio Villagra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cornelio Aguilera was the one to do the kick off. Jimmy Björkdahl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marino Socias in the 53rd minute of play. In the 58th minute Benicio Villagra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jimmy Björkdahl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 60 minutes, Marino Socias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ñielol F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marino Socias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jimmy Björkdahl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benicio Villagra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Marino Socias sped through Melozal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jimmy Björkdahl. If Benicio Villagra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cornelio Aguilera kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, Benicio Villagra notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Melozal's Jimmy Björkdahl. Jimmy Björkdahl was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marino Socias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marino Socias in the 94th minute of play forced Melozal's goalkeeper Jimmy Björkdahl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benicio Villagra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ñielol F.C fans cheered their team off the field, for while Melozal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
