Narciso Rivadeneira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rigoberto Barcelo made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Bruno Ducci sent off a good shot on target. After 10 minutes, Jeronimo Alessandri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the COLO-COLO and the Mullure AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mullure AFC booed when COLO-COLO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeronimo Alessandri didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 12 played minutes COLO-COLO got a freekick which was hit by José Luis Menart. Ceferino Lizondo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Iturralde in the 15th minute of the match. After 18 minutes, Anselmo Iturralde made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Mullure AFC's Ceferino Lizondo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 21 minutes in the game, Bruno Ducci fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Rigoberto Barcelo having to interfere. After 26 played minutes Mullure AFC got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Ducci. Pere Ahumada's late challenge caught a COLO-COLO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pere Ahumada helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mullure AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Pere Ahumada hit a great ball. Ceferino Lizondo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anselmo Iturralde's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Anselmo Iturralde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ceferino Lizondo having to interfere. When Narciso Rivadeneira came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the COLO-COLO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Narciso Rivadeneira couldn't finish the play. Pere Ahumada blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rigoberto Barcelo having to make a save. 45 minutes into the game, Narciso Rivadeneira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. COLO-COLO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mullure AFC the free kick. In the 45th match minute, COLO-COLO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narciso Rivadeneira to maneuver through the defense. 48 minutes into the game, COLO-COLO's Anselmo Iturralde nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ceferino Lizondo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

After 54 played minutes Mullure AFC got a freekick which was hit by Juan Pedro Maggi. Ceferino Lizondo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anselmo Iturralde went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Ceferino Lizondo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anselmo Iturralde's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Anselmo Iturralde who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Ceferino Lizondo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of COLO-COLO booed when Mullure AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pere Ahumada didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Mullure AFC's Ceferino Lizondo got control of the ball when Anselmo Iturralde tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mullure AFC's Oriol Fagalde got a free kick in the 81st minute. Rigoberto Barcelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimeno Burgos, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Mullure AFC were furious when Edilberto Toro was red carded, 93 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Ceferino Lizondo had in the 96thth minute some difficulties stopping Elías Dittmann's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Bruno Ducci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Mullure AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. COLO-COLO were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
