Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) COLO-COLO's Anselmo Iturralde started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5thth minute of the game Anselmo Iturralde who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Curahue's Xulián Van Dijk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 7 minutes into the game, Ludovico Aguiar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Xulián Van Dijk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, COLO-COLO's Hermenegildo Danitz got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 15th minute, Anselmo Iturralde ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Xulián Van Dijk was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Curahue's Xulián Van Dijk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Iturralde in the 19th minute of play. In the 24th minute, Joel Alba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xulián Van Dijk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Iturralde, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Romualdo Grez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Rigoberto Barcelo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 35 minutes into the game, Igon Olivares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. COLO-COLO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Curahue the free kick. In the 35th match minute, COLO-COLO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igon Olivares to maneuver through the defense. Duardo Santis kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After 38 played minutes, COLO-COLO's Elías Dittmann shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Xulián Van Dijk came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in COLO-COLO reached it. The supporters of Curahue booed when COLO-COLO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igon Olivares didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Rivadeneira in the 43rd minute of play forced Curahue's goalkeeper Xulián Van Dijk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Anselmo Iturralde notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Curahue's Xulián Van Dijk. Xulián Van Dijk was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fulgencio Gibbs was the one to do the kick off. Fulgencio Gibbs took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rigoberto Barcelo. Rigoberto Barcelo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Xulián Van Dijk made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Narciso Rivadeneira sent off a good shot on target. Rigoberto Barcelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fulgencio Gibbs in the 60th minute of play. In the 63rd match minute, COLO-COLO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igon Olivares to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute, Duardo Santis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xulián Van Dijk was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Elías Dittmann. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vasco Barra in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rigoberto Barcelo saved COLO-COLO from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulgencio Gibbs in the 72nd minute of play forced COLO-COLO's goalkeeper Rigoberto Barcelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rigoberto Barcelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Alba, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 94th minute, Romualdo Grez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Curahue fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3.
