Husares de la Muerte's Martin Kennewell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Husares de la Muerte from getting a goal against them. Husares de la Muerte's Martin Kennewell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ludovico Aguiar in the 7th minute of play. Martin Kennewell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anselmo Iturralde in the 12th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ludovico Aguiar in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Kennewell prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 15 minutes into the match, COLO-COLO's goal looked a bit too open when Guntademaro Farne came free, but Rigoberto Barcelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 15 played minutes COLO-COLO got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Rivadeneira. When COLO-COLO's Narciso Rivadeneira in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Boris Zamiralov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rigoberto Barcelo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Guntademaro Farne put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Rigoberto Barcelo. If Guntademaro Farne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guntademaro Farne to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Husares de la Muerte's zone, Narciso Rivadeneira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Kennewell came out of the goal and Narciso Rivadeneira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 54th minute Narciso Rivadeneira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Kennewell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Husares de la Muerte's Guntademaro Farne got a free kick in the 54th minute. Guntademaro Farne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Rigoberto Barcelo made a huge save. In the 59th minute, Jeronimo Alessandri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Carlos Gustavo Lozano came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Husares de la Muerte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Gustavo Lozano couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Husares de la Muerte getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Guntademaro Farne hit a great ball. Rigoberto Barcelo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Guntademaro Farne showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 66 minute of play. Boris Zamiralov struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Rigoberto Barcelo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Husares de la Muerte. Guntademaro Farne kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, Husares de la Muerte's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Iturralde came free, but Martin Kennewell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 82 minutes, Anselmo Iturralde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. COLO-COLO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Iturralde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, Husares de la Muerte's Rigoberto Barcelo threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Boris Zamiralov, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Ludovico Aguiar came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the COLO-COLO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ludovico Aguiar couldn't finish the play. The Husares de la Muerte players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
