Henrico Lavaque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to VIVAELRO getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Hugo Orlando Angellotti hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the game, Marcelo Salas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vladimiro Finlay. Marcelo Salas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Bermejo Schlubach kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vladimiro Finlay. That made the score 4-0 in the 31 minute of play. Hugo Orlando Angellotti hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Hugo Kovasic recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th match minute, The Celestial Lion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Odón Ahrens to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abelardo Sierra to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Marcelo Salas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The The Celestial Lion fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. After 61 minutes VIVAELRO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bermejo Schlubach who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Marcelo Salas heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Henrico Lavaque struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Vladimiro Finlay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Celestial Lion. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adelmo Elguea during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vladimiro Finlay didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bermejo Schlubach went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bermejo Schlubach in the 77th minute of play forced VIVAELRO's goalkeeper Vladimiro Finlay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Marcelo Salas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vladimiro Finlay. VIVAELRO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelo Salas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. Vladimiro Finlay didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelo Salas went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. Vladimiro Finlay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bermejo Schlubach in the 89th minute of play. When the match clock showed 90 minutes, the score became 9-0 when Marcelo Salas sped through VIVAELRO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vladimiro Finlay. The The Celestial Lion fans' excitement grew in the 96th match minute when The Celestial Lion's Marcelo Salas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 10-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
