Marcelo Salas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pau Acharan having to make a save. Pau Acharan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bermejo Schlubach in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th match minute, The Celestial Lion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tanio Klein to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Quirihue defense, Rafa Jackson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pau Acharan. The Quirihue fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pau Acharan should have stopped the shot. Florentino Urceda hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Marcelo Salas ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to The Celestial Lion getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Tanio Klein hit a great ball. If Henrico Lavaque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Clemencín Arriagada stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcelo Salas scored 5-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pau Acharan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 56 minutes into the match, Bermejo Schlubach had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pau Acharan. Pau Acharan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelo Salas went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. Marcelo Salas took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pau Acharan. Pau Acharan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. 90 minutes into the game, Bermejo Schlubach cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 11-0. Pau Acharan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Bermejo Schlubach managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Celestial Lion's supporters rose to their feet, but Bermejo Schlubach was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pau Acharan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Quirihue's zone, Marcelo Salas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pau Acharan came out of the goal and Marcelo Salas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that The Celestial Lion were the better team. The Celestial Lion's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
