In the 5th match minute, Universidad Catolica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Alberto Nordman to maneuver through the defense. If Juan Luis Chavarria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan Luis Chavarria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Francisco Alberto Nordman kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Silvestre Fehrman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Pau Casanova managed to get in a good position for a shot. BlackBuin Rovers's supporters rose to their feet, but Pau Casanova was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arturo Pedraza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marciano Martinovic's late challenge caught a Universidad Catolica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marciano Martinovic helped the player get up and apologised. After 36 played minutes BlackBuin Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Marciano Martinovic. When Jose Esteban Píriz fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Universidad Catolica's protests and gave Jose Esteban Píriz a yellow card for diving instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Juan Luis Chavarria made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Silvestre Fehrman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Javier Cunningham's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicanor Pérez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Arturo Pedraza made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Pau Casanova sent off a good shot on target. If Juan Luis Chavarria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute Silvestre Fehrman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicanor Pérez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Juan Luis Chavarria came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the BlackBuin Rovers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Luis Chavarria couldn't finish the play. Jose Esteban Píriz hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Pau Casanova managed to get in a good position for a shot. BlackBuin Rovers's supporters rose to their feet, but Pau Casanova was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 90thth minute of the game Juan Luis Chavarria who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Universidad Catolica's Arturo Pedraza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 92nd minute, Francisco Alberto Nordman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nacho Feyto, 93 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. BlackBuin Rovers were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
