Guido Vivero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 16 minutes into the match, Deportes Iquique's goal looked a bit too open when Bertrán Feldman came free, but Guido Vivero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Huajacia booed when Deportes Iquique was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zebulón Almoraza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deportes Iquique's Guido Vivero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bertrán Feldman in the 26th minute of play. Bertrán Feldman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guido Vivero having to interfere. After having played for 42 minutes, Bertrán Feldman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huajacia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bertrán Feldman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Eber Elguea came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Huajacia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eber Elguea couldn't finish the play. After the first half Huajacia were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rexino Olivar was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Zebulón Almoraza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportes Iquique's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Huajacia the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 53rd minute of the game. One of Deportes Iquique:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Huajacia:s goal. The goalkeeper, Guido Vivero, was totally fooled by Huajacia's Francisco Miguel Martel, who 55 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Bertrán Feldman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 59th match minute, Huajacia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reyes Pedraza to maneuver through the defense. Laureano Armanet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florencio Musalem in the 61st minute of the match. Ramón Ortega scored 2-4 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Laureano Armanet, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
