If Abdul Abella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th minute, Jose Ramon Ferraris ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guido Vivero was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Jose Ramon Ferraris struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Guido Vivero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for EL TRINAL FC.. Guido Vivero stood somewhat misplaced when Jose Ramon Ferraris came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 21 minute. In the 25th minute Tito Urbina suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. After 25 minutes, Giancarlo Grau mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportes Iquique and the EL TRINAL FC. players grew even worse after the yellow card. 30 minutes into the match, Jose Ramon Ferraris dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Guido Vivero, 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Leonides Klein managed to get in a good position for a shot. EL TRINAL FC.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Leonides Klein was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guido Vivero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matteo Gómez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guido Vivero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Guido Vivero was a little too slow when Abdul Abella got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 4-0. If Abdul Abella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 46 minutes, Abdul Abella managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EL TRINAL FC.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdul Abella was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Rexino Olivar made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes EL TRINAL FC. got a freekick which was hit by Jose Ramon Ferraris. In the 60th minute, Alarico Gajardo made a precise shot to the right of Guido Vivero. Deportes Iquique's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Guido Vivero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abdul Abella, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Guido Vivero didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jose Ramon Ferraris went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Guido Vivero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Podador Bardesi, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Guido Vivero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdul Abella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the match, EL TRINAL FC.'s Leonides Klein sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guido Vivero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart.
