Liberto Aldea charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Liberto Aldea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Deporte Provincial Osorno getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Liberto Aldea hit a great ball. After 35 minutes, Albert Anriquez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The audience was convinced that Nino Vega's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernán Redondo was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. 46 minutes into the match, Theobald Piedra notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Deporte Provincial Osorno's Fernán Redondo. Fernán Redondo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Celino Cartagena's late challenge caught a Deporte Provincial Osorno's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celino Cartagena helped the player get up and apologised.
