After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Giancarlo Vela managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guanguali's supporters rose to their feet, but Giancarlo Vela was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patricio Piedra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcel Menart made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Igor Valenzuela sent off a good shot on target. In the 96th minute, Bertrán Abaitua fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Marcel Menart, passed just outside the right post. The Guanguali manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Magallanes FC to win.
