The referee ignored VALENZUELA FC's protests and gave Gottfried Ferl a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th minute, Gottfried Ferl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Bo Björklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, VALENZUELA FC's goalkeeper Baltazar Angel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Alberto Lerga. Dagoberto Cameno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gottfried Ferl, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 27th minute Lois Pezoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dagoberto Cameno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baltazar Angel stood somewhat misplaced when José Alberto Lerga came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 34 minute. Lois Pezoa took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dagoberto Cameno. Dagoberto Cameno dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. After a rather tough play, MFD Eindhoven's Francisco Miguel Sotta got a free kick in the 43rd minute. José Alberto Lerga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Baltazar Angel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of MFD Eindhoven booed when VALENZUELA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lois Pezoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Alberto Lerga was the one to do the kick off. After 76 minutes, Isaiás Pareja mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MFD Eindhoven and the VALENZUELA FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 88 minutes VALENZUELA FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Isaiás Pareja who took care of the corner kick. After 91 played minutes MFD Eindhoven got a freekick which was hit by Moisés Ossandon. Moisés Ossandon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Angel having to interfere. José Alberto Lerga kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. MFD Eindhoven fully deserved thier win.
