The referee ignored Academia Juvenil Wenumapu's protests and gave Héctor David Pechini a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Academia Juvenil Wenumapu getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Héctor David Pechini hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiliz Gonzáles in the 4th minute of play forced Academia Juvenil Wenumapu's goalkeeper Carlos Saúl Cortés to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th match minute, Academia Juvenil Wenumapu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Maria Chavez to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Saúl Cortés came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Saint Sophia's Kiliz Gonzáles. But to his dismay, Kiliz Gonzáles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Diego Marinkovic notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Academia Juvenil Wenumapu's Carlos Saúl Cortés. Carlos Saúl Cortés was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Diego Marinkovic in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Saúl Cortés saved Academia Juvenil Wenumapu from getting behind. In the 17th match minute, Saint Sophia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Hugo Letelier to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Saúl Cortés didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kiliz Gonzáles went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 28th minute Diego Marinkovic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Saúl Cortés saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Academia Juvenil Wenumapu booed when Saint Sophia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Archibaldo Mundaca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Saúl Cortés showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Marinkovic in the 45th minute of the match. The Academia Juvenil Wenumapu players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Saint Sophia were winning 0-5.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lucio Jose María Aguiar made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Victor Hugo Letelier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saint Sophia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Academia Juvenil Wenumapu the free kick. In the 53rd minute Kiliz Gonzáles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Saúl Cortés saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 54 minutes, Isadoro Illanes Ansaldo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academia Juvenil Wenumapu and the Saint Sophia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Academia Juvenil Wenumapu's Isadoro Illanes Ansaldo got a free kick in the 55th minute. Saint Sophia's Nedas Gol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Maria Jaramillo in the 62nd minute of play. Kiliz Gonzáles received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carlos Saúl Cortés came out and tried to block the shot, but Kiliz Gonzáles slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 65th minute. Academia Juvenil Wenumapu's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Diego Marinkovic scored to the left of an out of position Carlos Saúl Cortés, making the score, 0-8. Kiliz Gonzáles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Saúl Cortés having to interfere. With a little luck, Academia Juvenil Wenumapu's Carlos Saúl Cortés got control of the ball when Archibaldo Mundaca tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Kiliz Gonzáles took a quick shot and it went in 0-9 without a chance for Carlos Saúl Cortés to make any attempt to save it. The Academia Juvenil Wenumapu fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Saint Sophia were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
