In the 15th minute, Xabier Lapierre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the match, Graneros's goalkeeper Gatha Niby had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xabier Lapierre. With a little luck, Graneros's Gatha Niby got control of the ball when Eufemio Hamilton tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 20 minutes, Severiano Denton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Graneros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severiano Denton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Severiano Denton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Renato Bonvallet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. With a little luck, Graneros's Gatha Niby got control of the ball when Xabier Lapierre tried to sneak it across the goal line. Severiano Denton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Renato Bonvallet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gatha Niby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xabier Lapierre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severiano Denton in the 32nd minute of play forced Coquimbo Unido's goalkeeper Renato Bonvallet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the game, Eufemio Hamilton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coquimbo Unido's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Graneros the free kick. A collision led to Coquimbo Unido getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Eufemio Hamilton hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Silviano Maccioni took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Gatha Niby to make any attempt to save it. Gatha Niby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eufemio Hamilton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Severiano Denton took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Renato Bonvallet to make any attempt to save it. Severiano Denton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vincente Lobo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 68 minutes into the match, Graneros's goal looked a bit too open when Eufemio Hamilton came free, but Gatha Niby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute Xabier Lapierre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gatha Niby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute of the match Siluna Angosto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Renato Bonvallet skillfully saved the ball. Alfredo Mac Rostie took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gatha Niby. Gatha Niby dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. 83 minutes into the match, Graneros's goal looked a bit too open when Eufemio Hamilton came free, but Gatha Niby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 84 minutes, Silviano Maccioni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coquimbo Unido's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silviano Maccioni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gatha Niby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silviano Maccioni in the 88th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Alfredo Mac Rostie notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Graneros's Gatha Niby. Gatha Niby was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gatha Niby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silviano Maccioni in the 95th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Coquimbo Unido had played much better football throughout.
