Carlos Aburto came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Ovalle City's Anacleto Mascayano. But to his dismay, Anacleto Mascayano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 25 minutes into the match, Deportes Vαldiviα's goalkeeper Carlos Aburto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonio Alcázar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Deportes Vαldiviα:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ovalle City:s goal. When the match had been going on for 29 minutes, Ovalle City's Joe Uytterhaegen got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Carlos Aburto. After having played for 34 minutes, Severino Coutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ovalle City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severino Coutinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Ovalle City's goal looked a bit too open when Rolando Ortega came free, but Pawel Siedlecki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After 51 minutes of play, Ovalle City's Antonio Alcázar made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Aburto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vinos Guemes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. The corner ended in Vinos Guemes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ovalle City's Pawel Siedlecki did a great save.
