The Deportes Vαldiviα fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Concepción's Urtsín Waugh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Aburto in the 22nd minute of play. Urtsín Waugh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolando Ortega, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Concepción's goalkeeper Urtsín Waugh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Concepción's Urtsín Waugh tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Eufrasio Najera put it in 0-9 from a short distance just to the right of Urtsín Waugh.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aníbal Canitrot was the one to do the kick off. Rolando Ortega received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Deportes Vαldiviα's Rolando Ortega slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Urtsín Waugh. That made the score 0-11 after 56 minutes of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eufrasio Najera in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Urtsín Waugh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eufrasio Najera was extremely unlucky when he, in the 64th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The supporters of Deportes Vαldiviα booed when Concepción was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergio Astudillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Urtsín Waugh was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Balendín Irarrázaval hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Deportes Vαldiviα played a much better game than Concepción and deserved their victory. The Concepción players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
