The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of Algarrobo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of BuLLangueros:s goal. Elias Van Der Linden walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 18 minutes into the match, BuLLangueros's goal looked a bit too open when Wilfredo Marchetti came free, but Ismael Neruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ismael Neruda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diego Armando Lamb's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the match, Algarrobo's goalkeeper Everardo Ado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elias Van Der Linden. Manuel Caviedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Everardo Ado having to interfere. Everardo Ado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Caviedes in the 26th minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Elias Van Der Linden reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Everardo Ado. The goal made the score 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

BuLLangueros's David Hitzeder managed to work through Algarrobo's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Algarrobo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
