An unexpectedly hard shot by Byron Ritter in the 5th minute of play forced Penzance's goalkeeper Anatole Ruth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Penzance's Anatole Ruth got control of the ball when Byron Hodge tried to sneak it across the goal line. Byron Hodge's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anatole Ruth read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. A collision led to Penzance getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Charlie Langelier hit a great ball. In the 28th minute, Lynn Barnard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edgar FC's Séverin Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilbert Lessard in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute of the match Leandro Dotson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Séverin Romero showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Gilbert Lessard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Penzance's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilbert Lessard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Séverin Romero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lynn Barnard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Séverin Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eloi Winter's late challenge caught a Edgar FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eloi Winter helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Byron Ritter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Edgar FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Byron Ritter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anatole Ruth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Edgar FC booed when Penzance was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charlie Langelier didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 49th minute, Dalton Beaupré fired a really elegant long shot, but Anatole Ruth threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Byron Ritter made a kick off. Gilbert Lessard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Séverin Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Penzance booed when Edgar FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corentin Means didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 63 minutes of play, Edgar FC's Marcelino Begay made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anatole Ruth was left in no man's land by his defense there! 67 minutes into the match, Edgar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lynn Barnard came free, but Séverin Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 68 minutes, Byron Ritter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edgar FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Byron Ritter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Byron Hodge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilbert Lessard got free with Séverin Romero in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Penzance's Gilbert Lessard in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Edgar FC's goalie prevented a goal. Séverin Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lynn Barnard in the 89th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute Lynn Barnard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Séverin Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Séverin Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lynn Barnard in the 96th minute of play. Penzance's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
