The audience was convinced that Alvin Carlton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maurice Hodges was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trent Bourgeau was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Sombra AFC were awarded a corner. Gérard Kane went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Sombra AFC's corner Gérard Kane fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Maurice Hodges quite easily take care of the ball. Adolfo Marshall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matt Reeder having to interfere. Sombra AFC's Matt Reeder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Marshall in the 90th minute of play. Adolfo Marshall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute, Scott Labbé hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sombra AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Louiseville.
