If Daren Phaneuf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Quebec AFC's Ahmad Fairchild got a free kick in the 12th minute. Quebec AFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Huey Fecteau in the 16th minute. Quebec AFC's Huey Fecteau was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Haywood Scruggs in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Quebec AFC's Lorenzo Keller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Sears in the 53rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dalton Helms during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 59 played minutes Oromocto got a freekick which was hit by Germain Marseau. The supporters of Quebec AFC booed when Oromocto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hung Elmore didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haywood Scruggs was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Daren Phaneuf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. Thad Legault blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Haywood Scruggs having to make a save. In the 83rd minute Thad Legault shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haywood Scruggs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thad Legault sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Haywood Scruggs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thad Legault in the 92nd minute of the match. Haywood Scruggs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thad Legault in the 94th minute of play. If Bruno Greer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 98 in the game by Bruno Greer from a close distance when the talented Haywood Scruggs managed to make a qualified save. Oromocto's players were relieved. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
