Spectators: 6724 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Trent Bourgeau took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Sombra AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Loyd Vadeboncoeur came free, but Matt Reeder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matt Reeder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ambrose Lemons, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute, Loyd Vadeboncoeur got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Loyd Vadeboncoeur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Matt Reeder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvin Carlton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dwain Dillon having to interfere. Dwain Dillon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Trent Bourgeau in the 25th minute. Matt Reeder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ambrose Lemons in the 28th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Sombra AFC's Alvin Carlton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dwain Dillon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Loyd Vadeboncoeur in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matt Reeder saved Sombra AFC from getting behind. Malachi's Ambrose Lemons got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Matt Reeder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loyd Vadeboncoeur, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Loyd Vadeboncoeur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Matt Reeder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ambrose Lemons made a kick off. Sombra AFC's Matt Reeder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ambrose Lemons in the 53rd minute of play. Ambrose Lemons received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Matt Reeder came out and tried to block the shot, but Ambrose Lemons slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 61st minute. With an all-out effort, Malachi's Matt Reeder threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ambrose Lemons, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dwain Dillon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvin Carlton in the 67th minute of the match. Trent Bourgeau struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Dwain Dillon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sombra AFC. The supporters of Sombra AFC booed when Malachi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Curtis Rhodes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gérard Kane took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dwain Dillon. Malachi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dwain Dillon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trent Bourgeau, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joseph Lovett during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Sombra AFC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Joseph Lovett hit a great ball. After 84 minutes, Gérard Kane mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sombra AFC and the Malachi players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sombra AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 84th minute. Penalty! In the 93rdth minute of the game Ambrose Lemons who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sombra AFC's Matt Reeder was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alvin Carlton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Dwain Dillon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Sombra AFC fans' excitement grew in the 96th match minute when Sombra AFC's Trent Bourgeau looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Sombra AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Malachi's performance. The match ended with a win for Malachi.
