Dwain Dillon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Bullard in the 4th minute of the match. When Malachi's Loyd Vadeboncoeur in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Braeside's goalie prevented a goal. Braeside's Adolph Powell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ambrose Lemons in the 9th minute of play. Bret Rich could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Dwain Dillon made a huge save. If Loyd Vadeboncoeur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Loyd Vadeboncoeur scored 0-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adolph Powell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Val Burkett's late challenge caught a Braeside's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Val Burkett helped the player get up and apologised. Val Burkett hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Malachi's Bruno Dufresne got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After having played for 34 minutes, Jean Bullard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Braeside's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jean Bullard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Braeside's Bret Rich got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adolph Powell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ambrose Lemons, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Loyd Vadeboncoeur had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adolph Powell. Braeside's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Loyd Vadeboncoeur was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jean Bullard was the one to do the kick off. Malachi's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
