Shelby Daugherty might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aurelio Charlebois. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Shelby Daugherty ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 11 minutes, Shelby Daugherty managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shamattawa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shelby Daugherty was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Shelby Daugherty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Charlebois having to interfere. Joachim Garza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute, Joachim Garza made a precise shot to the right of Aurelio Charlebois. Montcerf AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 24 played minutes, Shamattawa's Victor Villeneuve shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aurelio Charlebois came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Shamattawa reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Junior Currie in the 27th minute of play forced Shamattawa's goalkeeper Tommie Elliott to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Georges Metcalf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommie Elliott having to interfere. If Reginald McNair had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Georges Metcalf's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommie Elliott was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Shelby Daugherty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Charlebois having to interfere. In the 37th minute Georges Metcalf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommie Elliott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Montcerf AFC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Joesph Reaves hit a great ball. In the 44th minute, Shelby Daugherty got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Joachim Garza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Shamattawa were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

If Reginald McNair had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the game, Shamattawa's Blaine Deleon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aurelio Charlebois made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 63 played minutes Montcerf AFC got a freekick which was hit by Georges Metcalf. In the 65th match minute, Shamattawa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terrance Guernon to maneuver through the defense. Montcerf AFC's Georges Metcalf got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnold Cutler hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Georges Metcalf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aurelio Charlebois made an important save on a dangerous shot by Shelby Daugherty in the 73rd minute. Reginald McNair's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommie Elliott read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Tommie Elliott didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reginald McNair went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 82nd match minute, Shamattawa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnold Cutler to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Montcerf AFC booed when Shamattawa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blaine Deleon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tommie Elliott took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Georges Metcalf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Montcerf AFC's Reginald McNair in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Shamattawa's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Montcerf AFC's zone, Shelby Daugherty stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Charlebois came out of the goal and Shelby Daugherty tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Shamattawa eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
