Spectators: 6718 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1718, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Trent Bourgeau kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd match minute, Sombra AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joseph Lovett to maneuver through the defense. Matt Reeder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ambrose Lemons, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 4 played minutes Sombra AFC got a freekick which was hit by Hugues Lott. Loyd Vadeboncoeur recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Trent Bourgeau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dwain Dillon having to interfere. Dwain Dillon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Trent Bourgeau went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 17th match minute, Malachi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ambrose Lemons to maneuver through the defense. Sombra AFC's Trent Bourgeau got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Sombra AFC booed when Malachi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Dufresne didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Loyd Vadeboncoeur kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Matt Reeder. That made the score 1-1 in the 31 minute of play. Loyd Vadeboncoeur recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alvin Carlton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dwain Dillon having to interfere. Trent Bourgeau struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Dwain Dillon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sombra AFC. Dwain Dillon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trent Bourgeau in the 42nd minute of play. Joseph Lovett charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joseph Lovett the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 43rd match minute, Sombra AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joseph Lovett to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ambrose Lemons made a kick off. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sombra AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Curtis Rhodes was slow to take the kick. During this time Malachi's players had a chance to rest. Curtis Rhodes made a great header on Malachi's corner, it was just that Sombra AFC's Matt Reeder managed to reach the ball for a save. Alvin Carlton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dwain Dillon having to interfere. When Trent Bourgeau came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Sombra AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trent Bourgeau couldn't finish the play. Alvin Carlton took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dwain Dillon. Dwain Dillon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 79 minutes into the game, Loyd Vadeboncoeur cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Matt Reeder was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Matt Reeder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ambrose Lemons in the 88th minute of the match. If Ambrose Lemons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 91 minutes, Bruno Dufresne mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malachi and the Sombra AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bruno Dufresne kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Joseph Lovett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Despite being the better team, Sombra AFC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
