In the 11th minute, Joseph Lovett had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valentin Brault during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Louiseville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentin Brault to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Adolfo Marshall's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matt Reeder was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. 19 minutes into the game, Terence Glass was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sombra AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Louiseville the free kick. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matt Reeder prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 49th minute Bryon Dale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matt Reeder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvin Carlton in the 54th minute of play forced Louiseville's goalkeeper Maurice Hodges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alvin Carlton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Scott Labbé received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Matt Reeder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hugues Lott kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Adolfo Marshall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bryon Dale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matt Reeder having to interfere. Matt Reeder made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Bryon Dale sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Sombra AFC's zone, Bryon Dale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matt Reeder came out of the goal and Bryon Dale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 77 minutes, Adolfo Marshall managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Louiseville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adolfo Marshall was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Alvin Carlton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sombra AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvin Carlton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurice Hodges breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matt Reeder was a little too slow when Adolfo Marshall got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 0-1. In the 94th minute, Valentin Brault got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Sombra AFC's Alvin Carlton in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Louiseville's goalie prevented a goal. Sébastien Montminy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurice Hodges having to interfere.
