When Ray Starkey fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Youngstown AFC's protests and gave Ray Starkey a yellow card for diving instead. Ray Starkey hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ray Starkey in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rickey Ivy saved Waldeck from getting behind. In the 35th match minute, Youngstown AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Werner Gadbois to maneuver through the defense. Rickey Ivy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jewel Carlton in the 41st minute of the match. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ray Starkey stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Juan Negron dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Jewel Carlton hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 85 minutes into the match, Waldeck's Garry Elliot broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jewel Carlton kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Willis Cronin notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Youngstown AFC's Juan Negron. Juan Negron was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Youngstown AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
