The supporters of Carstairs booed when Humboldt FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genaro Rush didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Humboldt FC's Rickey Delarosa got control of the ball when Lucien Bain tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th minute, Rhett Laforge got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benito Cutler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnold Mothé read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Lucien Bain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Rickey Delarosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucien Bains short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Rickey Delarosa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dennis Esposito hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Rhett Laforge fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rhett Laforge to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 57 minutes, Lucien Bain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carstairs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucien Bain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 60 minutes into the match, Rich Dubois had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnold Mothé. Carstairs's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rich Dubois was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Rickey Delarosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rhett Laforge in the 70th minute of play. Lucien Bain hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. An unexpected shot in the 72nd minute by Rich Dubois got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Rich Dubois had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnold Mothé stood somewhat misplaced when Benito Cutler came free in front of goal and shot 0-2 to the left of him in the 78 minute. Rhett Laforge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Rickey Delarosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucien Bain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rickey Delarosa having to interfere. In the 92ndth minute of the game Lucien Bain who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Humboldt FC's Rickey Delarosa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Humboldt FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
