Brenton Sizemore who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Arnold Mothé when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bobcaygeon FC's Brenton Sizemore got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rhett Laforge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Lancaster having to interfere. Carstairs's Rhett Laforge got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dave Lancaster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rhett Laforge in the 40th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Bobcaygeon FC's zone, Milo Wynn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dave Lancaster came out of the goal and Milo Wynn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rhett Laforge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Dave Lancaster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucien Bain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rhett Laforge made a kick off. Dave Lancaster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucien Bain in the 52nd minute of play.
