The audience thought a goal was coming when Dewitt Myrick got free with Miquel Echols in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Saseenos's Arnoldo Carrasco got a free kick in the 6th minute. Karl Cliche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 15 minutes, Lindsey Goode managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saseenos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lindsey Goode was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Grover Walden during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of Eastern:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Saseenos:s goal. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Eastern's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Arnoldo Carrasco was slow to take the kick. During this time Saseenos's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Arnoldo Carrasco got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Myles L'Heureux quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Eastern getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Dewitt Myrick hit a great ball. When Dana Hager fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saseenos's protests and gave Dana Hager a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Saseenos fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Houston in the 41st minute of play forced Saseenos's goalkeeper Miquel Echols to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karl Cliche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Myles L'Heureux tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karl Cliche to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Eastern was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaac Miller to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute, Erik Terry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eastern's Grady West got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Teodoro Houston's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miquel Echols read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Eastern's goalkeeper Myles L'Heureux had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lindsey Goode. With his leg Myles L'Heureux managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Saseenos's Lindsey Goode fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl Cliche in the 74th minute of play forced Eastern's goalkeeper Myles L'Heureux to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Grady West had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miquel Echols took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro Houston, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teodoro Houston in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Miquel Echols saved Saseenos from getting behind. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Eastern lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
