The supporters of Hilliers booed when Balfour AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Loren Sawyer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benny Landry was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Chong Beaulac. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Sterling Hay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Balfour AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sterling Hay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ahmed Leach breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 31st minute, Theirn Vadeboncoeur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hilliers's goalkeeper Ahmed Leach, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Félix Odom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hilliers's Cecil Gonzalez got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benny Landry stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cecil Gonzalez's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Pierre Cates hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. When Pierre Cates came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Hilliers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pierre Cates couldn't finish the play. 65 minutes into the match, Balfour AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Cecil Gonzalez came free, but Benny Landry reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sterling Hay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Hilliers getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Pierre Cates hit a great ball. In the 70th minute, Charlie Huber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 71 played minutes Balfour AFC got a freekick which was hit by Loren Sawyer. 75 minutes into the game, Edgard Berger recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ahmed Leach. Edgard Berger showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Balfour AFC's Benny Landry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Félix Odom in the 78th minute of play. If Cecil Gonzalez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgard Berger struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Ahmed Leach didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balfour AFC. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 87th minute of the game. One of Balfour AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hilliers:s goal. Ahmed Leach showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sterling Hay in the 92nd minute of the match. With 97 minutes on the clock, Craig Crain commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 97 minutes into the game, one of Hilliers:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Toney Sapp placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! There was no doubt that Hilliers were the better team. Hilliers's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
