In the 17th minute, Bob Moïse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Beau Harden made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stacey Schaefer in the 20th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Grainland FC's Stacey Schaefer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Beau Harden narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wendell McPherson in the 48th minute of play forced Lemieux AFC's goalkeeper Beau Harden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgar Dent made a kick off. Stacey Schaefer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Beau Harden having to make a save. Beau Harden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wendell McPherson in the 54th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Grainland FC defense, Jed Hargrove kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Delmar Alonzo. The Grainland FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Delmar Alonzo should have stopped the shot. If Stacey Schaefer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 67th minute, Stacey Schaefer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grainland FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Beau Harden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stacey Schaefer in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th minute of the match Grainland FC got a corner. Lemieux AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Osvaldo Hope ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Wendell McPherson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
