Sterling Hay might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Laurent Middleton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sterling Hay ran back to his position shaking his head. If Edgard Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benny Landry showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wiley Mann, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Gérald Heard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Prospect FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gérald Heard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benny Landry breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Balfour AFC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Marlin Foucault hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurence Gervais in the 28th minute of play forced Balfour AFC's goalkeeper Benny Landry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Prospect FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Lambert Cooke hit a great ball. If Sterling Hay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. Laurent Middleton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balfour AFC. Sterling Hay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edgard Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Laurent Middleton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Dick Poisson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 40 minutes, Edgard Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balfour AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgard Berger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Prospect FC's Laurent Middleton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Prospect FC from getting a goal against them.

After 51 minutes, Gérald Heard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Prospect FC and the Balfour AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Prospect FC's Gérald Heard got a free kick in the 51st minute. Laurent Middleton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Berger in the 53rd minute of play.
