An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilbert Grimm in the 17th minute of play forced Shere's goalkeeper Emile Brock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sang Gagné made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Sutherland in the 18th minute of play. Skownan's Sang Gagné proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Skownan from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Osvaldo Sutherland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sang Gagné was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. When Shere's Wally Foley in 99 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Sang Gagné guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in.
