Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Trinidad Michaud got the match started through his kick off. After 3 played minutes Shere got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Manning. Trinidad Michaud sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Placentia's Avery Marquez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Placentia from getting a goal against them. Wally Foley came free with the goalkeeper in the 10th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Avery Marquez could save by the left post. When Osvaldo Sutherland came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Shere fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Sutherland couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Placentia's zone, Wally Foley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Avery Marquez came out of the goal and Wally Foley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Osvaldo Sutherland put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Avery Marquez. Emile Brock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barney Byers, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Shere's goal looked a bit too open when Trinidad Michaud came free, but Emile Brock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Shere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Émilien Burt to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Shere's zone, Trinidad Michaud stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emile Brock came out of the goal and Trinidad Michaud tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 28th minute Trinidad Michaud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emile Brock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Avery Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Sutherland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wally Foley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Avery Marquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Placentia's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Sutherland came free, but Avery Marquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Grant Tinsley came up free with the goalie in the 49th minute, the Placentia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grant Tinsley couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osvaldo Sutherland made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Osvaldo Sutherland ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Avery Marquez was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. If Osvaldo Sutherland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Osvaldo Sutherland in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Avery Marquez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emile Brock made an important save on a dangerous shot by Barney Byers in the 70th minute. If Osvaldo Sutherland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 74 played minutes Shere got a freekick which was hit by Doug McLaughlin. The crowd rose to their feet as Trinidad Michaud kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Emile Brock. That made the score 2-1 in the 75 minute of play. In the 78th minute, Shirley Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Avery Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wally Foley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barney Byers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emile Brock having to interfere. Emile Brock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trinidad Michaud, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Shere fans cheered their team off the field, for while Placentia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
