Raul Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gary Wiggins having to interfere. If Major Hadley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Buford Gamache made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Major Hadley sent off a good shot on target. Preston Inman's late challenge caught a Codroy FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Preston Inman helped the player get up and apologised. Raul Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Gary Wiggins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Codroy FC's goalkeeper Buford Gamache, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Norris Staton came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Douro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norris Staton couldn't finish the play. In the 30th minute of the match Brain Pierce shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gary Wiggins showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Norris Staton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buford Gamache having to interfere. Buford Gamache showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norris Staton in the 33rd minute of the match. Alvaro Presley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 40 minutes of play, Codroy FC's Raul Marquez made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gary Wiggins was left in no man's land by his defense there!

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alvaro Presley made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Norris Staton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Buford Gamache saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Hadley in the 55th minute of play forced Codroy FC's goalkeeper Buford Gamache to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Presley in the 67th minute of play forced Douro's goalkeeper Gary Wiggins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute, Norris Staton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 76th minute, Douro's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Raul Marquez fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 0-2 became the score in the 80th minute when Alvaro Presley elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 84 played minutes, Douro's Brent Kearns shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Buford Gamache came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Douro reached it. In the 86th minute, Raul Marquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Norris Staton struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Buford Gamache didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Douro. Buford Gamache showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Major Hadley, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 94th minute Norris Staton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Buford Gamache saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Codroy FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
