Preston Inman hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the game, Norman Hall recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gary Wiggins. Norman Hall showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Francisco Nash had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clyde Kirkland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norris Staton in the 36th minute of play. Major Hadley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clyde Kirkland having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

If Norman Hall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gary Wiggins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Nash, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Preston Inman during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Francisco Nash came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Lillestrom FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Nash couldn't finish the play. If Major Hadley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th match minute, Lillestrom FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kendrick Harvey to maneuver through the defense. Douro's Elden Cooke couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 78th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Lillestrom FC. If Norman Hall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Douro's goal looked a bit too open when Dorsey Savage came free, but Gary Wiggins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gary Wiggins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norman Hall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Kurt Shepherd fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lillestrom FC's protests and gave Kurt Shepherd a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Douro booed when Lillestrom FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Shepherd didn't get a good kick on the ball. Douro's Norris Staton was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 88th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Francisco Nash fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gary Wiggins having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
