The audience thought a goal was coming when Major Hadley got free with Vince Jarrell in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Marty Wang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gary Wiggins was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. In the 45th minute, Eliseo DuLin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gary Wiggins was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Marty Wang made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Gambo's Eliseo DuLin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gary Wiggins made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 60th minute, Asa Chaney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 61 minutes into the game, Norris Staton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Vince Jarrell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Norris Staton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Douro's zone, Eliseo DuLin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gary Wiggins came out of the goal and Eliseo DuLin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Norris Staton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vince Jarrell having to interfere. Norris Staton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vince Jarrell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Major Hadley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vince Jarrell was relentless in the 78th minute of the game.
